1. Introduction

Imakie ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials.

Content Data: Stories, images, characters, and other creative content you generate using our service.

Usage Information: We collect information about how you interact with our service, including story creation patterns, feature usage, and preferences.

Organization Data: If you join or create an organization, we collect organization name, membership information, and role assignments.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process and complete transactions
• Send administrative information and updates
• Respond to inquiries and support requests
• Generate AI content based on your prompts
• Enforce our Terms of Service

4. Student Privacy & COPPA/FERPA Compliance

For educational organizations using Imakie:

• We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
• Student data is only accessible to authorized organization members
• Student profiles can be set to organization-only visibility
• We do not sell student data to third parties
• Schools maintain control over student accounts and content

5. Voice Cloning (My voice)

On paid plans you can create a synthetic copy of your own voice to narrate your projects.

• What we collect: two recordings you make: a 10–30 second sample of your speech, and you reading a short consent sentence. We also keep a record of your consent: the date, the wording you agreed to, the sentence you read, your IP address and browser, and a fingerprint (hash) of each recording.
• Where it goes: the recordings are sent to Google (Gemini API), which checks that both are the same speaker and creates the voice model. Imakie does not store the recordings; Google stores only the voice model, in our project.
• How it is used: only to narrate projects you own, when you choose it. It is never used for anyone else’s projects, never sold or shared, and never used to train models.
• How long we keep it: until you delete it, and at most one year from when you created it; after that it stops working and you can record it again. Narration already made with it stays in your projects until you change it.
• Deleting it: Settings → My voice → Delete removes the voice model at Google immediately. The consent record is kept as proof of consent.
• Only your own voice: you may clone only your own voice. Cloning someone else’s voice, even with a recording of them, is not allowed.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service Providers: Google Cloud Platform, OpenAI, and other infrastructure providers necessary to operate our service
• Organization Members: If you belong to an organization, your stories and activity may be visible to other members according to your organization's settings
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption, access controls, and regular security assessments.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your content
• Opt out of marketing communications

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not intended for children under 13 without parental consent or school authorization. Organizations using Imakie for students under 13 must obtain appropriate consents and comply with COPPA requirements.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or service notification.
